Slow Dancing In The Dark

As part of my 2D Animation course, I was required to choose a target video to rotoscope. I decided on Vincent Zhou's beautiful figure skating performance of Joji's "SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK", partly as a way to highlight Asian artists I loved and partly because of gestural movements worked well when rotoscoping.

In the process of creating this, I learned a myriad of new tools and workflows in Photoshop, including onion skinning and video manipulation. It was also interesting including elements that didn't exist in the source material (ie. the movement lines and text) as I tried to balance my hand-drawn style with the need for continuity/readability.
